This Friday, Bembibre kicks off the 15th Annual Botillo Tapas Festival, featuring 17 participating establishments—the highest number in recent years

The program for the 53rd Bembibre International Botillo Festival kicks off this weekend with one of its most eagerly anticipated culinary events: the 15th Botillo Tapas Festival, which has seen the highest number of participants in recent years, with 17 establishments registered.

In this edition—the first since the Festival was recognized as a Festival of International Tourist Interest—participating establishments will offer their own original creation in the form of a “pincho” made with botillo at a single price of 1.50 euros, inviting the public to embark on a culinary tour in which this “king” of sausages will take center stage.

The events will take place on the weekends before and during the Festival, on January 30 and 31, and February 1; and on February 6, 7, and 8. The hours will be Fridays from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; and Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

As an incentive, the public will receive scorecards that will be stamped at each establishment to rate each of the tapas. Those who complete the tour (by trying all the pinchos) can drop their entry form into the box with their personal information and will be entered into a drawing for various prizes.
